Dahlquist first met Marshall as an instructor in the Weapons Section at Ft. Benning. He discusses Marshall’s skills and Assistant Commandant and his impact on training. He saw Marshall again in 1938 when Marshall was head of the War Plans Division. He discusses expanding the Army Reserves and then Selective Service. He discusses the Allied invasion of Europe and is critical of decisions at the Yalta Conference which ultimately kept U. S. forces from Berlin and the Polish border.
