Gen. Hull talks about the Eisenhower situation of not defending Gen. Marshall in ’53 against Jenner et al. He speaks of the lack of policy in the State Dept. prior to Marshall’s tenure as Secretary, Wedemeyer and the British, the earlier than expected collapse of Japan prior to their surrender, Russian aspirations at War’s end, and Marshall’s China mission directive which he adhered to vehemently; conditions there were an aid to the communists. Gen. Hull stated Marshall didn’t volunteer opinions unless he was asked.
