FRA-00917, ECA helps house French Miners

During the war, 28,000 miners’ homes were destroyed in France. ECA counterpart funds have helpd to replace them and to erect whole settlements of prefabricated houses in important mining districts. Miners occupy the houses rent free. This prefabricated house is one of several hundred in a development in Merlebach, in the Lorraine coal fields.
