This is the first opportunity that I have had, when I get off by myself, since last Sunday.  The chief reason is that I have been busy installing myself and equipment in some suitable headquarters.  The place that I now occupy is owned by a young married couple, with two children, and the wife’s mother.

It is not quite as palatial as the home which you and I have waiting for us, but it is as satisfactory as can be expected.  It is a little, semi-wrecked structure which can well be classed as a dug out.  The only floor that I can boast of is the floor that Mother Earth put there, and that is quite damp and moist.
