The Andrew J. Goodpaster Award honors the life and service of General Andrew J. Goodpaster, a longtime trustee and a chairman of the Foundation, a champion of the Marshall legacy, an American hero, and an extraordinary public servant.
The Goodpaster Award is presented to American business leaders, politicians, military leaders and others who have served our nation in exemplary ways, who, like General Goodpaster, have exhibited great courage, selfless service, patriotism and leadership in their lives and careers.

Gen. Raymond T. Odierno, USA, received the Goodpaster Award in December 2014 at a luncheon in Washington. Gen. Odierno is the 38th U.S. Army chief of staff. He was honored for his distinguished career in the U.S. Army. During more than 37 years of service, he has commanded units at every echelon, from platoon to theater, with duty in Germany, Albania, Kuwait, Iraq, and the United States. 2012 | Gordon R. Sullivan
General Gordon Sullivan, USA (Ret.) received the Goodpaster Award in May 2012 at a luncheon in Washington. Gen. Sullivan was honored for his distinguished career in the U.S. Army that he concluded as the 32nd Chief of Staff and a member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and for his leadership of AUSA (Association of the United States Army), of which he has served as president since 1998. He is chairman of the Board of Trustees of Norwich University; a director of the Institute of Defense Analyses, and a member of the Council of Advisors of the Marshall Foundation. 2008 | Brent Scowcroft
Lt. General Brent Scowcroft received the first Goodpaster Award in December 2008 at a gala dinner in Washington. General Scowcroft epitomizes a life of selfless devotion and service to the country he loves deeply. A former trustee of the Marshall Foundation like his good friend and colleague Andrew Goodpaster, Brent Scowcroft served as National Security Advisor to Presidents Gerald Ford and George H. W. Bush. His extraordinary twenty-nine-year military career began with graduation from West Point and included numerous assignments addressing long-range military planning, international relations and national security issues.
