The George C. Marshall Foundation is hosting a specialized, week-long professional development seminar for secondary school teachers in Lexington, Virginia, June 25 to 30, 2023. The George C. Marshall Foundation Teachers Institute will focus on practical aspects of teaching twentieth century U.S. history, with special emphasis on the Marshall Plan and the early Cold War era. Attendees will finish the week with a portfolio of lesson plans for the 2023-2024 school year. The George C. Marshall Foundation Teachers Institute is ideal for teachers of U.S. History and World History.
The George C. Marshall Foundation is delighted to cover lodging, mileage, and meals for all participants. In addition, all teachers who complete the requirements of seminar will receive a $500 honorarium. The George C. Marshall Foundation Teachers Institute will include sessions at the George C. Marshall Research Library (Lexington, VA); Washington & Lee University Special Collections (Lexington, VA); and George C. Marshall International Center (Leesburg, VA). Speakers include Dr. Benn Steil (Council on Foreign Relations), Dr. Elizabeth Charles (Department of State), and other content specialists. The seminar is open to no more than 15 educators.
