Hickey reflects on Marshall’s mediation mission to China post World War II until Marshall becomes Secretary of State. The interview includes a portion of Hickey’s service in Europe. The latter part of the interview is Pogue’s account of Marshall’s death and funeral arrangements. Mrs. Hickey sat in on the interview and provides an anecdote from a visit to the Leesburg home. Sidney Lowery, a Pogue research associate, also provides some questions for Mr. Hickey.
