This is a report from the Battle of Meuse-Argonne, a major battle that lasted from September 26, 1918 until the armistice on November 11, 1918. This report was compiled on March 24, 1919 and it was “not to be considered as a historical document, but for the confidential use of press correspondents and magazine writers as the basis for articles”. Captain A.P. Terry obtained this report after taking it from the office of a lieutenant who had stolen it during the summer of 1919. Terry believed it to be the only copy of this report. The report contains facts and figures on the number of men engaged in battle. It separates the almost two month battle into three sections which are labeled as phases.
