FRA-00918, Mathis Automobile Factory gets new life
Black and White Digital Photo File (jpg)
Levelled by bombing, the once thriving Mathis automobile factory at Strasbourg, France, was nothing but a desolate open square at the end of World War II. By February 1950, part of the factory was rebuilt and employed again 600 workers while reconstruction continued. Marshall Plan aid played its part in restoring this and other factories in the Strasbourg area by providing machines and raw material.
