Black and White Digital Photo File (jpg)
During the war, 28,000 miners’ homes were destroyed in France. These miners’ homes in Merlebach, northeastern France, are some of the 5000 scheduled for construction every year through 1955 in the French mining areas. The terrain beyond the line of trees in the background is part of the Saar.
