President Truman at a press conference states that the United Nations forces are in Korea to put down aggression. “If the United Nations yields to the forces of aggression, no nation will be safe or secure,” says Truman. The United Nations Security Council is thwarted by Russia’s opposition to a resolution calling for the Red Chinese troops to withdraw.
