Unit Two: Part of a Bigger Picture

Summary: Students identify Marshall in four sets of photographs. Then they answer questions about the photos which draw attention to key moments in U.S. history–and Marshall’s place in them.

Goals: First, to help students envision Marshall’s life in its historical context. Second, to show students how working with others for a greater good can itself be a path to success. Marshall lived his life as part of a bigger picture: in what ways might students today do the same?
