Grandparents, parents, children and guests are invited on Saturday, Dec. 3 from 10 am to 4 pm for a holiday open house in the Marshall Museum.
Families are invited for crafting, ornament making, and cupcake wars.
Crafting will run from 10 am to 1 pm. At 1 pm the cupcake wars will begin. The cupcake wars will be a cupcake decorating contest to celebrate General George C. Marshall’s 136th birthday. Children ages 3-17 may participate. The winner will receive a $10 cash prize.
Admission to the Museum is free on Dec. 3 and canned or non-perishable food item donations are welcomed and will be given to the Rockbridge Area Care Box Project. Refreshments will be served.
The Museum Shop will be open for holiday shoppers and has a range of gifts including books, hats, decals, toys, and rare and out-of-print military history books. In the spirit of the Marshall Plan, the shop carries gifts and jewelry from Ten Thousand Villages, a non-profit company that aims to rebuild the economies of war-torn countries.
The Marshall Museum is located on the post at VMI, in the southwest corner near the Parade Ground. Parking is available on the street or in the lot behind the Museum.
